
Often the first sign of a problem is when you try to access the drive in My Computer and receive a 'Drive is not formatted' or 'The file or Directory is corrupt or unreadable' message.
When your MFT is corrupted or missing, a simple repair of the Partition Table (Track 0) or repair of the Boot Sector will not suffice. Only an extensive rebuilding of the file chains will work. That's where Advanced File Recovery comes to the rescue! Advanced File Recovery is a non-destructive recovery system. None of the data on the damage disk is modified.
TIP:
If your drive is damaged:
1. Never run any destructive recovery software. This includes ChkDsk
/F
2. Never write to the disk or run any software that tries to write
to the disk.
3. Never run any defragment software on the disk now, Never!
If your drives are in good condition,
there are three things you should be doing right now:
1. Backup your data. The best defense against data loss is a good
backup.
2. Any Sensitive text (ANSI) files should be kept in a binary
format. (Zip, 7z).
3. Defragment your drives on a regular basis. The best defragment
software can be set to defragment your drive at startup, before
Windows starts.
